Clark Elster NPS (master pastelist), charter and signature member and past President of the Northwest Pastel Society; member -- Oregon Pastel Society; member -- past  President, Puget Sound Group Northwest Painters. Twice published in the "AMERICAN ARTIST" magazine; paintings in private corporate collections throughout US, and in Canada, Europe and Japan. Workshop instructor. Primarily a self taught artist who began painting in 1985. Has studied and painted with Pat Fridell, Doug Dawson, Daniel Green, Arlene Hooker-Fay, Ned Mueller, Lorenzo Chavez,  David Leffel,  Desmond O'Hagen and Albert Handel.

Artist's Statement: "I believe painting is the orchestration of our imagination. Artists see what everybody else has seen and then paint what they should have seen. Life is short. Art is forever. The physician heals the body, the artist heals the spirit. Wherever we may look, mother nature is the artist's greatest inspiration and instructor!"

Eastern Oregon

Each of my landscape painting were painted on the smooth side of toned Canson papers (my ground of choice) using a selection of Rembrandt, Sennelier, Schmenke soft pastels, and NU Pastel
